From 2026, suburban rail services in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine will be managed by a single company.
This is reported by Russia-controlled media.
According to the so-called “transport minister” of the “DPR”, Oleksandr Bondarenko, the enterprise is being created by the occupying Ministry of Transport and the occupying structure “Railways of Novorossiya”.
The company is supposedly to become the sole carrier of suburban rail services for the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts.
The occupation official said that in 2026 the company should begin full financial and economic operations and carry out transport within the four occupied Ukrainian oblasts, and in the future — expand into adjacent territories and “develop passenger services across the entire territory of the Russian Federation”.
Meanwhile, representatives of the occupation authorities do not disclose which specific organization will be responsible for this.
