A resident of Tarasivka in the Kherson region, Natalia Snihur, has been notified of suspicion of voluntarily being elected to illegal authorities created by Russian occupiers in the temporarily occupied territory of Oleshky district.
This is reported on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, while in the city of Oleshky, Snihur voluntarily agreed to put forward her own candidacy in the pseudo-elections of deputies to the illegal Council of Deputies of the so‑called Oleshky municipal district of the first convocation.
On April 24, 2024, she was included in the faction of the all‑Russian political party “United Russia” and held positions in two illegal permanent commissions — on budgetary issues, economy and investments, as well as on legality and deputy ethics.
Thus, Snihur systematically participated in public events organized by the occupation authorities and the “United Russia” party. In particular: the celebration of “Victory Day” in the village of Tarasivka, events for “Teacher’s Day”, New Year, political conferences and educational events in schools operating under the control of the occupiers. The suspect promoted Russian narratives, contributed to the militarization of the civilian population and the spread of the governance standards of the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied territory.
In addition, Snihur inspected the progress of construction and repair works in schools and kindergartens, conducted propagandistic contests, lessons and masterclasses aimed at implementing the ideology of the aggressor state and legitimizing the occupation authorities.
The actions of Natalia Snihur are qualified under Part 1 of Article 28 and Part 5 of Article 111‑1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the voluntary election of a citizen of Ukraine to illegal authorities created on a temporarily occupied territory, committed by a group of persons without prior collusion.
It should be noted that Natalia Snihur is the former deputy head of Vinogradove village. In 2020 she was the director of the Tarasivka support lyceum in the Kherson region.
In the same year, she took part in local elections to the Vinogradove village council of Kherson district from the political party “Servant of the People”.
Snihur has been entered into the Myrotvorets database.
Earlier we wrote that Viktor Syrota was notified of suspicion of voluntarily being elected to illegal authorities in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
