A resident of the Kherson region who was preparing to hold a pseudo-referendum in the oblast was sentenced to 9 years in prison. She was found guilty of collaborationist activity.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports this.
The court also deprived her of the right to engage in activities related to the electoral process and referendums for a period of 10 years.
According to the investigation, the 57-year-old woman in August 2022 took the so-called position of secretary of an illegally created precinct election commission.
The body operated in the temporarily occupied territories of the villages of Kachkarivka and Sablukivka in Beryslav district.
The woman compiled lists of local residents who could take part in the illegal voting, recruited other members of the «commission» so that they would involve citizens in illegal voting.
In addition, she processed ballots and submitted information to the so-called territorial election commission that operated in the district center.
Recall, today the illegal head of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Zaitsev, was suspected of three offences – collaborationism, public calls and justification of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression and the occupation of Ukrainian territories.
