SBU investigators have notified 32-year-old resident of the village Mykilske in Kherson district, Vitaliy Tuhov, of suspicion; in 2022 he voluntarily joined in carrying out a Russian pseudo-referendum in the occupied territory.
This is stated in the materials of the suspicion published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the man agreed to the occupiers’ proposal to take part in organizing the so-called «referendum» in the village of Daryivka. He was appointed a member of precinct election commission No. 432.
Tuhov canvassed local residents, urged them to take part in the voting, and helped the occupiers conduct the illegal «expression of will».
After counting the ballots, the occupation election commission announced that allegedly over 87% of voters supported «the accession of Kherson Oblast to the Russian Federation». These actions became part of the process of the illegal annexation of part of Ukraine’s territory.
The man was notified of suspicion under part 2 of Art. 28, part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – collaborationist activity committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons.
