The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv found Oleksandr Losiev, a resident of temporarily occupied Tavriisk in Kakhovka district of Kherson region who fought against Ukraine as part of the Russian army, guilty of treason and collaborationist activity.
This was reported by the Center for Journalistic Investigations.
According to the investigation, in June 2025 Losiev signed a contract with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He served as a rifleman in the 3rd assault company of the 137th Guards Parachute Regiment of the 106th Guards Airborne Division of the Russian army.
In September last year he took part in hostilities against Ukrainian forces on the Sumy direction, where he was captured.
During the trial the man fully admitted his guilt. The court found him guilty under part 2 of Article 111 and part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — treason and collaborationist activity. He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
As the Center for Journalistic Investigations notes, Losiev previously claimed that he signed a contract with the Russian army after the occupiers accused him of killing his wife and forced him to do so while he was detained.
At the same time, the outlet’s sources among Tavriisk residents said that the man had a criminal past and may have been involved in violent crimes. It is impossible to independently verify these claims because the events took place in the temporarily occupied territory.
It is also known that in 2016 the Novokakhovka City Court had already sentenced Losiev to nine years’ imprisonment for murder.
