President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a Law on the mandatory evacuation of the population, including children, from territories of active and potential hostilities.
This was reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The document allows the evacuation of children from places of active hostilities even in cases of parental refusal. The law states that a child’s right to life is a priority, so military administrations now have the authority to make decisions about the mandatory relocation of minors to safe regions for protection from shelling.
Recall that under the new law, if a settlement is located in an area of active hostilities and parents or legal guardians refuse to evacuate the child, the evacuation will be carried out by the National Police. After being moved to safe regions, children will be handed over to guardianship and care authorities.
