President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to Kherson presented the Hero of Ukraine Star to the son of the late farmer from Beryslavshchyna, Oleksandr Hordiienko.
The head of state announced this on social media.
«He was well known in Kherson and across all of Ukraine. He did a great deal to keep the Kherson region alive, to clear mines from our Ukrainian lands, to protect them from drones,» — Zelensky noted.
Recall that on September 5 it became known that while working in a field a farmer was killed in an attack by a Russian drone Oleksandr Hordiienko.
Since 1998, Oleksandr Hordiienko had headed the “Hordiienko” farm in the Beryslav district.
He was the head of the Farmers’ Association of Kherson Oblast and a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council from Ihor Kolykhaiev’s party “We Live Here”.
