The Kherson region resident Serhii Lukyan was found guilty of treason and collaborationist activities.
The corresponding verdict was handed down by the Sosnivskyi District Court in Cherkasy.
Before the full-scale invasion the man lived in Hola Prystan, where he ran a private farm. After the occupation of the city he voluntarily began cooperating with the Russians and headed the seized forestry enterprise, taking the position of director of the illegal Hola Prystan forestry and hunting enterprise.
In addition to leading the forestry enterprise, in September 2023 Lukyan was elected a deputy of the so-called Hola Prystan municipal district.
Furthermore, the court found proven facts of his assistance to the armed forces of the Russian Federation. In particular, Lukyan provided the occupiers with data on ATO/JFO participants, housed Russian servicemen in abandoned Ukrainian homes, supplied the invaders with food and provided them with the forestry enterprise’s official vehicles. He also publicly urged community residents to obtain Russian passports.
The man was convicted under Part 2 of Article 111, Parts 5 and 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
