As a result of the Russians blowing up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, 28 industrial facilities on the right and left banks of the Dnipro River were flooded.
This is stated in the socio-economic and cultural development program of Kherson Oblast for 2026.
Thus, according to preliminary estimates, in the city of Oleshky, due to the flooding of leading industrial enterprises, losses from the destruction of equipment, movable and immovable property amount to about 70 million euros.
In Kherson, nine industrial facilities that were completely submerged potentially suffered damages totaling up to 100 million euros.
Recall, the dam of the Kakhovka HPP, which was located near the now-occupied town of Nova Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast, was destroyed on June 6, 2023. On June 18, the Kakhovka reservoir effectively ceased to exist.
As a result of the blast, nearly 10 thousand hectares of wetlands of international importance were destroyed.
