The average salary in Kherson, based on an analysis of vacancies over the past three months, is 21 000 UAH. This is 8% more than in February last year, but the city remains among the laggards in terms of pay levels among regional centers of Ukraine.
This is indicated by data from the Work.ua portal.
The highest average salary figures are currently recorded in the western regions and the capital.
Among the leading cities by pay level in February 2026, Lviv holds the top spot, where the average salary reached 30 000 UAH, showing an annual increase of 5 000 UAH. Second place is Uzhhorod with a figure of 27 500 UAH, followed by Chernivtsi, where the median salary of vacancies is 26 000 UAH.
Kyiv maintains leading positions in terms of the volume of market offers and growth dynamics — over the past year salaries in the capital have increased by 18%. Experts associate this trend with the high concentration of large businesses, IT sector companies and branches of international projects.
The lowest average salaries are recorded in cities close to the combat zone. The labor market in these regions remains unstable, and pay increases often serve only as compensation for inflation.
Thus, in Sumy the average salary is 20 000 UAH, and in Kryvyi Rih – 20 800 UAH.
Recall that as of December 2025 the Kherson Regional State Administration entered the top three leaders by salary level.
