About a thousand people have died in Kherson during three years of shelling.
This was reported on the air of Hromadske Radio by the deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov.
He noted that among the dead are 16 children, and about seven thousand more people were wounded.
According to the official, Russia directs about 2,500 drones at the Kherson region each week, and Ukrainian forces shoot down about 90% of them.
“At the same time, the enemy is constantly looking for new ways to bypass Ukrainian electronic warfare and air defense systems, in particular using Mavic drones that change frequencies during strikes,” Tolokonnikov said.
Last week, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that in the near future a new program aimed at strengthening Kherson’s air defense will be implemented and countering Russian drones.
