The court handed down a verdict against a member of the illegal precinct election commission in Kherson, Vlas Chepyhin.
This is stated in the relevant court verdict.
The investigation established that in September 2022 Chepyhin was appointed a member of a precinct election commission that operated in the territory of Kherson’s Central District.
In particular, during the period of the illegal referendum he was part of a mobile group that operated on the territory of the market “Tavriyskyi”.
Chepyhin received voters, issued ballots for voting, and checked voters against the available lists of Kherson residents, the verdict says.
Questioned witnesses confirmed in court that they saw Chepyhin on Kakhovska Square in the Tavriyskyi microdistrict of Kherson, where he conducted the so-called referendum.
Having examined the evidence, the court in absentia found Vlas Chepyhin guilty of collaborationist activity (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 7 years in prison without confiscation of property.
