175 Ukrainian military personnel and seven civilians have returned from Russian captivity. Among them are defenders who carried out combat missions on the Kherson direction.
This was reported on social media by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Returning home were soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guardsmen and border guards — privates, sergeants and officers. Most of them had been in captivity since 2022. Some of the released are wounded.
The released defenders fought in various directions, including in Mariupol, at the Chernobyl NPP, as well as in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv and Kursk regions.
For reference, according to the Kherson Regional State Administration (HOVA), from Russian captivity already 42 servicemen have returned from the Kherson region. All of them are receiving payments of 30,000 hryvnias.
