Five more children were returned to territory under Ukrainian control from the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region. Among them are four children aged 9 to 16 deprived of parental care, as well as one adult from their number.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, one of the rescued is a nine-year-old boy who lived under constant shelling for four years because his family had no opportunity to leave. Shells regularly exploded near his house, and mines repeatedly fell into the yard.
Another girl, upon reaching adulthood, was finally able to leave the occupation. She remained without water and food while Russian military forces aggressively persecuted civilians, including young girls, in the streets of their city.
Currently all the rescued are safe — they are receiving psychological assistance, housing and support in the «Hope and Recovery» centers.
Earlier it was reported that in total territory under Ukrainian control 731 children were returned from temporarily occupied communities of Kherson region. The number is currently growing.
