Another group of children and teenagers aged 7 to 17 was returned from the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast to territory under Ukrainian control.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Among the rescued is a 12-year-old girl who for almost four years did not leave the house in order to avoid being forced to study in a Russian school. During all that time she secretly studied online according to the Ukrainian curriculum. It was dangerous, because the occupiers could check her phone at any moment.
Also among the evacuated is a 12-year-old boy who has required regular treatment since childhood. After the occupation of his town, medical care became unavailable: the hospital was closed and looted, and there was no access to necessary medications and proper medical supervision.
Currently all the rescued children are on free territory together with their relatives. They are staying in centers «Hope and Recovery», where they receive medical, social, and psychological assistance.
The return of the children was made possible as part of the President of Ukraine’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA and with the assistance of the Save Ukraine team.
