731 children have been returned to territory under Ukrainian control from temporarily occupied communities of Kherson region.
This was reported in an interview with Ukrinform by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, since the beginning of 2026, 31 children have been returned from the occupation.
Prokudin noted that the stories children tell after returning testify to systemic pressure and violence by the Russian occupiers.
In particular, in front of a 17-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy, Russian soldiers tortured their mother. Occupiers repeatedly came to this family, intimidated and abused them.
Also, two boys aged five and 11 were taken by the occupiers to a so-called court, where they were interrogated, humiliated, and their father was also humiliated in the presence of the children.
A search was also carried out at the 12-year-old girl’s home after a denunciation that she allegedly possessed a Ukrainian flag.
According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, children in the occupied territories are forced to draw the Russian tricolor and prepare gifts for Russian soldiers.
