On the night of December 22 to 23, 2025, Russian forces struck the Catherine Cathedral and the Greco-Sophia Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Kherson.
This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC-MP, citing the diocese’s press service.
Thus, as a result of the attack, the central dome of the Catherine Cathedral was damaged, and at the Greco-Sophia Church – the foundation and the church’s facade and utility rooms were damaged.
Recall, in October a Russian morning attack in Kherson damaged the Greco-Sophia Church.
Also in October, Russian forces attacked the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Kherson during a Sunday service.
