The Kherson City Court handed down a sentence to a resident of the village Stara Zburivka, Olena Rotonos, who headed the local occupation administration and organized illegal elections in the Kherson region.
This is stated in the court ruling.
According to the case materials, Rotonos began cooperating with the occupiers in the summer of 2022.
She voluntarily took the position of the so‑called head of the occupation administration in Stara Zburivka.
The woman managed community property, selected personnel to work for the occupiers, and carried out propaganda for the Russian authorities by organizing mass events.
In the spring of 2023, Rotonos headed the so‑called Hola Prystan territorial election commission. In this position she prepared illegal voting for deputies to sham authorities.
Rotonos personally formed the composition of polling stations, distributed campaigning materials and controlled the collection of signatures during door‑to‑door visits of local residents.
After the completion of the pseudo‑elections, Olena Rotonos signed the protocols with the voting results and officially handed over certificates to pseudo‑deputy collaborators during their first meeting in Hola Prystan, the verdict says.
The court in absentia found Olena Rotonos guilty of collaborationist activity. She was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
Earlier we wrote that a former policeman, who built a career with the occupiers in Crimea and in the Kherson region, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
