Athletes from Kherson Oblast won 16 medals at the Ukrainian Canoe and Kayak Championships among juniors and under-23 athletes.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Michelle Fesun won the most medals. She became champion at the 1000 and 500 meter distances in the single kayak, and won a silver medal at the 200 meter distance. The athlete won another “gold” as part of the four-person kayak crew.
Anna Drusinova won two gold, one silver and three bronze medals at the 1000 and 500 meter distances in the single kayak, the double kayak and as part of four-person kayak crews. Based on her performance, the athlete met the requirements for the title Master of Sport of Ukraine.
Vladyslav Sadovnikov became the bronze medalist at the 1000 meter distance in the two-person canoe.
Artem Trybulkin won another bronze medal, taking third place at the 200 meter distance as part of the four-person canoe crew.
Albina Yakobchuk, as part of four-person canoe crews, won a gold, two silver and a bronze medal.
The championship took place in Uman. It featured over 400 athletes from 21 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv.
According to the results, the Kherson Oblast team finished 12th among 27 teams.
