Getting an appointment with specialist doctors at the polyclinics in Kakhovka is only possible through «in-person» queues, which residents occupy from 5 a.m. Due to an acute staff shortage, only some people in the queue manage to get an appointment token, while other patients are forced to leave without assistance.
The media “Heard” writes about this, telling the story of Kakhovka resident Tamara.
The city’s emergency medical system is operating with critical failures. There have been recorded cases of calls being ignored by dispatchers of the «ambulance» or of remote «consultations» being provided by phone instead of sending a crew.
In particular, there are reports of patient deaths in Kakhovka due to the inability to receive timely assistance for acute conditions: doctors arrive at the scene only several hours after the call or do not come at all.
As a reminder, as of May 2025, hospitals in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region were staffed with medical personnel at only 37%. Medical services were therefore satisfactory to 34% of the population there.
