In the occupation, the former manager of affairs of the executive committee of the Novokakhovka City Council and advisor to the mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Vasyl Akulenko, died.
This was reported by journalist Oleh Baturyn.
“They said that he died back in February. He was buried in one of the settlements of the Tavriisk city community”, – he wrote.
According to the journalist, there is no information about Akulenko’s cooperation with the occupying authorities. There is only one photo online showing him attending a reception with the then occupying head of Nova Kakhovka, Vitalii Hura.
Vasyl Akulenko began working in the city council back when Borys Silenkov headed the region. A scandal then arose: Akulenko did not have a higher education, and for part-time studies at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management he submitted a forged copy of a higher education diploma.
At the beginning of March 2022, journalist Oleh Baturyn shared on social networks information that Akulenko allegedly issued passes for moving around the city through enemy checkpoints. The city council then denied this information, explaining that other people who worked in the executive committee during the occupation were involved in issuing the passes.
