A native of Nova Kakhovka, now – a resident of Moscow, Kateryna Korchagina was sentenced to 3.5 years in a general-regime penal colony for raising funds to purchase a quadcopter for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The decision was issued on March 11, 2026 by the Khoroshyovsky District Court of Moscow, Novyny Donbasu reports.
In June 2023 the woman published an Instagram post announcing a fundraiser for a drone for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She also held a livestream during which she spoke out against the so-called “special military operation”.
The post was placed on her personal account, where Korchagina also advertised her services as an electroepilation specialist. At the trial she stated that the idea to collect funds arose after a conversation with the husband of one of her clients from Ukraine — the trigger was the murder of her acquaintance in Nova Kakhovka. The woman later deleted the post.
Korchagina was “reported” by pro-Russian activist Marina Shishulina, associated with the Telegram channel «Crimean SMERSH».
The court qualified Korchagina’s actions as public calls for actions directed against state security. In addition to the prison term, she was also banned for three years from administering websites and pages on the Internet.
It is known that Kateryna Korchagina is originally from Nova Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast, Ukraine. She moved to Moscow after the start of the full-scale war in 2022.
