Russian forces are trying to move across the bottom of the former Kakhovka reservoir, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine keep this territory under control.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, on a telethon broadcast.
According to him, the reservoir bottom has now turned into a large meadow overgrown with dense vegetation, which the Russians are trying to use to cover their maneuvers.
“The enemy is trying to advance through the thickets on the bottom of the former reservoir, bypassing our positions in the areas of Plavni and Prymorske, to attack from the west. But our troops are tracking their actions and destroying groups that try to advance,” Voloshyn said.
Recall, earlier units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense conducted a clearance operation in the area of the Velyki Kuchuhury islands located within the former reservoir, where the enemy was trying to establish a foothold.
