Because of continuous attacks by Ukrainian drones on the R-280 highway in occupied Kherson, which connects Rostov-on-Don with Crimea, this road has been dubbed “road of death”. Currently the Defense Forces of Ukraine completely dominate the air over this stretch, blocking the main supply artery to Russian forces.
This is reported by the British newspaper The Guardian.
According to the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brodie, in recent weeks the military cargo flow along the highway has decreased by 71%. This has already caused a fuel shortage in occupied Crimea and has significantly undermined the supply of Russian units directly in the Kherson region.
It is noted that Ukrainian forces achieved this result thanks to the massive use of American drones “Hornet” with artificial intelligence support for truck recognition and new Ukrainian drones “Morrigan”, which are launched from a catapult without being tied to runways.
