205 Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity. Among them are servicemen from the Kherson direction.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to him, this is the first stage of a 1,000-for-1,000 exchange.
“Among the freed are privates, sergeants, and officers. Most of them had been in Russian captivity since 2022. They defended Ukraine in Mariupol and «Azovstal», on the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kyiv directions and at the Chernobyl NPP”, – the head of state said.
Recall that on the evening of May 8, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a prisoner exchange on the principle of “one thousand for one thousand” from each country.
