A 50 kW solar power plant was put into operation in the Velykooleksandrivska community of the Kherson region.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, thanks to the station’s launch the community’s residents now have uninterrupted wastewater disposal, and critical infrastructure facilities will be able to operate even during power outages.
The solar power plant powers sewage pumping equipment. In the future, the generated electricity is planned to also be used for water purification and for operating a press for waste sorting.
The project was implemented with the assistance of international partners Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER³). The cost of the completed works amounted to 2.1 million hryvnias.
Earlier it was reported that in the Kherson region, as part of a project to reconstruct water supply systems started operating a solar power plant (SPP).
