In the administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin, they were preparing to dismiss the occupation governor of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, but the resignation has reportedly been postponed for now.
This is reported by pro-Russian pseudo-opposition media, citing their own sources in Putin’s administration.
“Saldo appears in closed security summaries on a par with Pushilin, Pasichnyk and Balitsky — as one of those who, during the [so-called] “SMO”, extracted more money from federal flows than most governors of the «old» regions. Funds for infrastructure restoration, construction, humanitarian aid and logistics went through frontline zones without full control, which regional elites actively exploited. The schemes were typical: «burned warehouses», fictitious deliveries, backdated acts, intermediary contractors”, – the post says.
They note that against this background Saldo has allegedly recently sharply changed his tactics – began to distance himself from other “corrupt figures” in the occupied territories and to build a more cautious model — without demonstrative federal “skimming”.
Saldo’s political insurance allegedly became the allocation to the budget of the occupied left-bank Kherson region of 13.5 billion rubles instead of the expected 11.9.
Recall, in February 2025 Volodymyr Saldo was recognized as one of the worst governors according to PRAVDASERM – he placed 85th out of 89 possible in the ranking.
