As of today, only 21 residents live in the village of Mala Seydeminukha in Kherson Oblast.
This was told to MOST by the starosta of the Blahodativ starostynskyi district, Nataliya Muravchuk.
According to her, before the full-scale invasion, in February 2022, 116 people lived in the village. At that time relatives even came from Kherson to the local residents, hoping that the small village would be safer. However, in March 2022 Russian forces entered Mala Seydeminukha.
The occupation lasted until September 2022, after which Mala Seydeminukha was a zone of active hostilities for more than two months. During the fiercest fighting only 12 people remained in the village, among them — the starosta and her father.
“We left on October 20, and returned on November 9,” says Nataliya Muravchuk.
Currently 21 people live in Mala Seydeminukha across 12 households. According to the starosta, life in the village is gradually recovering, although the consequences of the occupation and hostilities are still very noticeable.
