In Kherson, the Urban Passenger Transport Development Programs for 2026-2028 were approved. The total program funding amounts to over UAH 234 million.
The relevant order was signed by the head of the Kherson Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko.
It is noted that the Program was developed to optimize the city’s transport network and to align passenger transport volumes with the real needs of the population.
The Program provides for the purchase of 30 new buses and 10 trolleybuses. Priority will be given to electric transport and large- and medium-capacity buses, which will allow a gradual phase-out of small-capacity minibuses (marshrutkas) and improve the city’s environmental situation.
In addition, they plan to introduce “electronic ticket” systems for cashless payments and automated passenger accounting, as well as fully equip the entire rolling stock with GPS navigation.
As stated in the document, implementation of the measures of this Program will ensure uninterrupted and safe transport services during martial law, improve the urban transport network, provide quality and safe services, improve the environmental and sanitary condition of the city, etc.
Note that recently Slovakia handed over buses to the Kherson community that will be in use for five years.
