Kherson resident Dominika Zadorozhna was found guilty of voluntarily taking a position in an illegal law enforcement body created in the temporarily occupied territory. The court sentenced her to 13 years of imprisonment.
This is stated in the relevant court verdict.
No later than June 2022, Zadorozhna agreed to an employment offer from representatives of the occupation administration of Kherson. From June until January 2023, the woman held the position of investigator of the investigative department of the occupation’s Suvorov City Police Department.
Witnesses confirmed that Zadorozhna did not hide her work for the occupying authorities and initially claimed that she worked at a bank, and later — as an investigator in the “Russian police”.
As a relative of the woman said, she used her status and connections with the occupiers in domestic conflicts.
In particular, after an argument with her husband she called a unit of fake law enforcement officers, falsifying accusations of the presence of weapons. As a result the man was beaten and detained for two days, and Zadorozhna herself told relatives: “When I want, they’ll release him”.
In addition, there are recorded instances when Zadorozhna arrived in an official car with Russian blue license plates to seize a hunting rifle, and also actively incited local residents to send their children to study at Russian schools.
According to the court verdict, she was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and all property was confiscated.
