In Kherson, an employee of one of the law enforcement agencies who acted as an intermediary in a corruption scheme for selling driver’s licenses was exposed and notified of suspicion.
This was reported on the State Bureau of Investigation website.
According to the SBI, exploiting his official position the law enforcement officer took money from acquaintances and promised them “guaranteed successful” passing of the theoretical and practical exams, as well as unobstructed receipt of a driver’s license. He passed part of the received money to other participants in the scheme.
As noted in the report, at least three episodes of receiving illicit benefits were recorded in amounts of 2,500 hryvnias and 12,500 hryvnias.
The detainee faces up to 7 years of imprisonment.
Earlier it was reported that in Kherson they plan to increase the staff of the territorial office of the State Bureau of Investigation.
