On June 5, a farewell ceremony was held in Kherson for serviceman Yevhen Halytskyi. The man died on February 6, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission in the Chernihiv region. He was 42 years old.

Yevhen Halytskyi was born in Kherson on April 5, 1983. In 2001 he began studying at the Kharkiv Institute of the Air Force. He took part in combat operations from 2014. During his service he became a full Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and was awarded other state honors.
According to his father, Oleksandr Durniak, the serviceman had a wide circle of acquaintances abroad and from childhood collected historical artifacts. In particular, he was an expert on the details of the German “Tiger” tanks, collected military helmets from the First and Second World Wars, as well as numismatics, philately and household items.
Yevhen Halytskyi is survived by his father and his wife Yulia.
As a reminder, at the end of May in the war a serviceman from Kherson region, Ivan Kruglyi, was killed.
