Kherson has entered the list of Ukrainian cities where the cost of long-term rental of private houses has fallen the most over the past year. Over the year the median rental price fell by 25%.
This is according to a study by OLX Real Estate, which compared prices for March 2025 and March 2026.
According to the analysis, if in 2025 the median cost of renting a private house in Kherson amounted to 6 thousand hryvnias per month, then in 2026 it decreased to 4.5 thousand hryvnias.
Analysts link this price reduction primarily to the unstable security situation. For the same reason, house rents have also become cheaper in Sumy, where prices fell by 22%.
At the same time, the opposite trend is observed in other regions. The rental of private houses increased the most over the year in Zaporizhzhia — by as much as 87%, from 8 to 15 thousand hryvnias. Increases were also recorded in Cherkasy, Lutsk, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, and Vinnytsia.
It was previously reported that over the period from February 2025 to February 2026 the median housing prices in the Kherson region increased, although real demand continues to fall.
