Despite state support programs for medical workers, the shortage of medical staff in the Kherson region remains difficult.
This was reported on air by the deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Tolokonnikov.
According to him, currently there is only one ophthalmologist serving the entire city of Kherson. There is also a shortage of narrowly specialized medical professionals.
Recall that at the beginning of the year funding for emergency medical care was increased in the Kherson region. Total funding for the sector in the region increased by UAH 39.9 million and now amounts to UAH 137.6 million.
At the same time, Russian forces systematically shell the city’s medical facilities. Recently, as a result of another attack, two medical workers were injured.
