The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Chernivtsi handed down a verdict against a lawyer from Kherson who voluntarily assisted the occupying authorities during the occupation.
This is stated in the relevant court verdict.
The investigation established that in July 2022 the man became the deputy director of the seized enterprise “Khersonkomuntransservice”.
Immediately after his appointment he began to assist the occupying authorities. At his direction, a minibus “Ford” was handed over to Russian special services.
The man worked for the occupiers for more than half a year, and on the eve of the liberation of Kherson fled together with the occupation administration to Skadovsk, where he continued to work for Russia. There he officially registered the Ukrainian municipal enterprise in Russian registers, attempting to legalize its operations under Russian law.
The convicted man’s former colleagues told the court that he worked for the occupiers of his own accord and maintained friendly relations with the leadership appointed by the Russians.
Since the man is currently hiding in occupied Crimea, the case was heard in absentia. For aiding the aggressor state he received 11 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
