Every third prospective applicant from Kherson (33%) plans to tie their future to Kherson’s higher education institutions.
This is evidenced by the results of a sociological study commissioned by the Kherson City Community Fund “Zakhyst”.
The study revealed three key factors that guide applicants.
Among them, territorial proximity (43%) — the most popular reason, which is paradoxical at the same time. Although all Kherson universities have been officially relocated to other regions of Ukraine, applicants continue to perceive them as “their own” and “close”.
High quality of education (41%) — a significant portion of young people are convinced of the professionalism of the teaching staff and the academic level of their home institutions.
The possibility of distance learning (26%) — the format’s flexibility allows studying from anywhere while maintaining a connection with the Kherson academic community.
Earlier we wrote that more than half of Kherson residents oppose reducing the number of universities in the city.
