The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha called on the UN and its member states to condemn the Russian attack on a humanitarian convoy in Kherson Oblast.
He said this while commenting on the strike by Russian FPV drones on a UN vehicle that was delivering humanitarian assistance to residents of Kherson.
According to Sybiha, Russian forces attacked a clearly marked UN vehicle twice in two different locations with a time gap between the strikes.
“This terrorist attack was not accidental: the clearly marked UN vehicle was attacked twice in two different locations with a significant time gap between the strikes. Russian forces deliberately attempted to kill those who were helping civilians in Kherson – delivering medicines, food and other essential items, – the minister emphasized.
He noted that UN personnel came under attack, including the leadership of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine, which was delivering medicines, food and other essential items.
According to him, this attack demonstrates the Russian Federation’s true attitude toward international law and its obligations within the UN.
As noted by the Foreign Ministry, no one was injured as a result of this attack.
