Former deputy head of the occupation military-civilian administration of Kherson region Kateryna Hubaryeva was involved in the repression of pro-Ukrainian rallies in Kherson in spring 2022, and is currently engaged in supplying drones to the Russian army.
This was told by her ex-husband and Ukrainian collaborator Pavlo Hubaryev in an interview with Russian journalist Yuriy Dud.
According to him, Kateryna Hubaryeva personally helped to stop the rallies in Kherson, took part in identifying the organizers of the peaceful actions and their subsequent repressions.
After Hubaryeva revealed herself as an accomplice of the occupiers, she was offered a position in the pseudo-administration. Thus she became deputy head of the occupation military-civilian administration (MCA) of Kherson region for social issues, domestic and foreign policy, international relations and digitalization.
As her ex-husband said, after Hubaryeva began to be offered to take part in corruption schemes, she allegedly refused. After that, Hubaryeva was detained by Russian special services and accused of embezzling 60 million rubles from the budget.
At the same time, according to Pavlo Hubaryev, the case against his ex-wife was allegedly fabricated.
“She was rehabilitated, the case was closed, they even gave some kind of award,” Hubaryev said in the interview.
Later Kateryna Hubaryeva decided to engage in unmanned systems and, according to her ex-husband, was directly involved in the development of the Russian UAV “Veles”. She is currently supplying drones to the Russian army. Production and supply take place through “gray”, specially created, structures and companies in the Russian Federation.
