A tennis player from Kherson region Angelina Kalinina reached the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Limoges, France, defeating the top seed — Spanish Cristina Bucsa — in the semifinal.

For Kalinina this tournament was her first start in six months. On the hard courts of Limoges Angelina reached the semifinals, earning three victories, including over two players from the top-100 of the world rankings.
The highest-ranked opponent of the Ukrainian at the tournament was Bucsa — the world No. 54, who received the top seed and was considered the main favorite of the tournament.
Kalinina closed out the match in 75 minutes on court. In the first set the tennis player from Kherson region recorded two breaks and at 5:4 confidently converted her second set point.
In the second set Kalinina broke her opponent’s serve three more times, posting 71% first-serve success with no double faults. Meanwhile Bucsa was worse in this metric, conceding three lost points.
Thus, Angelina Kalinina will compete for the title in the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Limoges.
