The Velykooleksandrivskyi District Court of Kherson Oblast handed down a verdict regarding Lyudmyla Bezerdyan, who was accused of organizing and conducting an illegal referendum in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region.
This was revealed by the text of the court’s verdict.
The court found that the woman participated in preparing and conducting a pseudo-vote in the village of Shevchenko, Kakhovka district, informed local residents about its organization, urged them to support the region’s annexation by Russia, and kept a record of participants.
She was found guilty of collaborationist activities and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with an additional penalty in the form of a ban on holding elective positions in local self-government bodies and engaging in activities related to organizing and conducting elections and referendums for 10 years, as well as confiscation of property.
Recall, the sentence also was handed down to a 60-year-old railway worker-collaborator from Kherson region, who helped the occupiers launch rail links between the occupied part of Kherson region, the territory of the Russian Federation and annexed Crimea.
