A panel of judges of the Pokrovskyi District Court of Kryvyi Rih has once again reduced the bail for Kherson City Council deputy Illia Karamalikov, who is accused of treason.
This is stated in the court ruling published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
Karamalikov’s detention was extended until January 15, 2026, and the bail was reduced to 1,211,200 hryvnias.
The court has reduced Karamalikov’s bail for the sixth time. At the beginning of March this year he allowed to be released from pre-trial detention on bail of 9 million UAH, later it was reduced to 6 million UAH, and then to 4.5 million UAH, but Karamalikov did not pay it.
On September 13 the court again reduced the bail amount to 2.4 million UAH. After which he turned to MPs from Kherson region Serhii Kozyr, Pavlo Pavlish and Viktoriia Vagner, asking the three of them to give him money so he could be released from pre-trial detention.
According to the deputy’s lawyer, his client does not have the money to post bail.
In May 2025 it became known that the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reduced Karamalikov’s volume of charges.

Of the four counts brought against Karamalikov, three have been dropped.
According to lawyer Mykhailo Velychko, there is no evidence that the deputy handed over pro-Ukrainian activists to the Russians during the occupation of Kherson, distributed Russian “humanitarian aid”, housed Russian soldiers, or repaired their equipment.
On April 16, 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Kherson City Council deputy Illia Karamalikov. He, together with his family, tried to get to Odesa.
The Security Service of Ukraine officially confirmed the information about the detention of the Kherson deputy only on April 21.
