The Kherson City Court found Lyubov Tymchak, the head of the occupation administration of Abrikosivka in the Kherson region, guilty of collaborationism; she was killed by Russian soldiers.
The verdict was published on the website of the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
According to the investigation, in November 2022 Tymchak voluntarily assumed the position of the so‑called head of the territorial administration of the village of Abrikosivka in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
In this position she recruited staff for the occupation authority, organized reception of citizens, handled matters of the community’s vital functioning, facilitated the issuance of Russian passports and encouraged people to obtain them, organized the settlement of Russian military personnel into abandoned houses, etc.
During the investigation, investigators gained access to the email account used by Lyubov Tymchak. Thus law enforcement found lists of employees of the Abrikosivka occupation administration, their contact details, the contact details of a Russian operator, lists for the distribution of humanitarian aid, a report sent to the occupation administration, information about an illegally created election commission, a list of ATO participants, which, according to the investigation, indicates that Tymchak provided data about Ukrainian servicemen to the occupying authorities.
The court in absentia found Lyubov Tymchak guilty under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all her property.
Lyubov Tymchak died as a result of an incident in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region in April 2024. According to Russian Telegram channels, two drunk Russian soldiers then killed five people (two Russian soldiers and three civilians) and set fire to houses in two settlements.
The alleged reason for the killing of Tymchak was reportedly her refusal to house Russian soldiers due to the lack of available houses. At that time, details of the mass killing were reported only by Telegram channels; official media initially did not specify the exact cause of death of Lyubov Tymchak and others, and later omitted the fact that the suspects in the killings – were soldiers.
