The court found a 46-year-old resident of the Kherson region guilty of collaborationist activity after he headed one of the territorial departments of the illegal administration established by the Russians in Henichesk.
This was reported by the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation established that after the occupation of part of the Kherson region the man voluntarily assumed a leadership position in the so-called Administration of the Henichesk Municipal District.
In this position he carried out organizational, managerial, and administrative-economic functions, ensuring the operation of the occupying authority.
The court found him guilty under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – collaborationist activity. The man was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment, banned from holding positions in government bodies and local self-government for 15 years, and his property was confiscated.
Earlier the court handed down a verdict to a deputy from the Kherson region who headed the occupation council.
