The Kherson City Court has handed down a sentence to Kherson resident Artur Malyuk, who during the occupation of the city took a job working for the illegal police.
This is stated in the court ruling.
As the investigation established, in the summer of 2022 the man voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the Russian occupying authorities and took a job at the illegal law enforcement body created by the occupiers – the so-called Russian DAI (GIBDD, – Rus.) in Kherson Oblast and obtained the position of inspector of the agitation and propaganda department.
During investigative actions, law enforcement officers found documents with lists of employees of the occupying institution, among whom was Malyuk.
In addition, according to a witness’s testimony, in August 2022 he was forcibly taken by officers of the FSB of the Russian Federation to the so-called “GIBDD” directorate in Kherson, where they tried to force him to work in the occupation “police”. While there, the witness met Malyuk, who was already working in the occupation institution and openly boasted of his official powers and bragged about detaining Kherson residents who were later taken to the so-called “basements”.
The court in absentia found Malyuk guilty of collaborationist activity (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property.
