2.24 hectares of land that are part of the territory of the National Nature Park “Nyzhnodniprovskyi” were returned to the state.
This was reported on the website of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
These concern three plots that in 2016, 2019 and 2020 were removed from the park’s use. At that time their designation was changed from lands of the nature-reserve fund to agricultural land.
After that, the land on the territory of the Mykilska Village Council of Kherson Raion was transferred into private ownership — for individual farming and gardening.
The prosecutor’s office appealed these decisions in court. The court sided with it and ordered the plots to be returned to the state — into the use of the national park.
Note that the National Nature Park was established in 2015 to preserve and restore the natural complexes of the Dnipro Delta — one of the most valuable floodplain–littoral ecosystem complexes in Europe. The park’s territory has special conservation, scientific, recreational and historical-cultural value and includes the internationally significant wetlands “Delta of the Dnipro River”.
