Investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kherson region have announced a new suspicion against Kherson native David Stovba. He is accused of aiding the aggressor state and collaborationist activities.
This is stated on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, in June 2022 Stovba voluntarily began cooperating with the occupation authorities. He took the position of manager of a mobile communications salon of the Russian operator “+7Telecom”, which was set up in the premises where a Vodafone salon of the Ukrainian operator had operated before the occupation of Kherson.
Stovba was responsible for managing personnel, personally sold and configured Russian SIM cards.
In addition, according to Ukrainian law enforcement, besides working in the salon, in September 2022 Stovba created and administered a Telegram channel under the pseudonym “David Lobakin”. There he posted materials that justify Russia’s armed aggression, glorify Russian servicemen and call for support of the occupation administration.
On the eve of Kherson’s liberation Stovba left for the left bank of the region, and in Henichesk continued his cooperation with the occupiers, participating in illegal elections as a candidate from the “United Russia” party. In spring 2023 he became a so‑called deputy of the occupation Council of Deputies of the Henichesk municipal district. Interestingly, at that time Stovba was a minor.
Stovba has now been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 111-2 (aiding the aggressor state), as well as Parts 5 and 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity).
David Stovba was previously notified of suspicion, but at that time he was accused only of aiding by selling Russian SIM cards.
