Despite significant pressure and intimidation from the occupying authorities, residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region continue to resist and await the return of Ukraine.
This was told to Toronto Television by the legitimate mayor of occupied Skadovsk, Oleksandr Yakovlev.
“Resistance exists now, but it is very hidden, that is, no one declares it openly, because one can pay for it with their life. Such examples, unfortunately, were right in Skadovsk,” – he said.
However, according to the mayor, pro-Ukrainian residents continue to resist the Russian occupation.
“Confirmation of this are periodic strikes on various targets located either in Skadovsk or nearby in our district, so this resistance is definitely present and there is a large number of people who are waiting for liberation and seek the return of Ukraine,” – Yakovlev said.
