The first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevskyi reacted to the investigation by journalists of the “Schemes” project, which concerned his wealth and property that were not in his declarations.
The official published his response on his Telegram channel.
The official explained that in the period 2019-2020 (the journalists examined declarations precisely for this period, – MOST) he worked as a lawyer in Kyiv, and the declared incomes are “typical for a specialist in this field”. Note that journalists found about UAH 3.5 million in cash in his declarations.
He also clarified that his wife declared the funds “based on his statements”, since he had no obligation to submit his own declaration at that time.
Yuriy Sobolevskyi noted that journalists did not find any assets or property that could indicate enrichment during his work in the Kherson Regional Council:
“There are no land plots, hidden businesses, or real estate registered to relatives. There is only my income and my salary,” he wrote.
Regarding the car mentioned in the investigation, Sobolevskyi explained that the vehicle belongs to his father-in-law, and during the invasion his wife and children left the country in it, and he himself did not use this car.
The official also commented on publications about family members’ travels. According to him, before entering public service the family had greater opportunities, and during the war short trips abroad were an “attempt to distract the children from difficult conditions”.
Yuriy Sobolevskyi was elected a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council in the autumn of 2020.
In December of the same year he was elected first deputy head – the head of the executive office of the Kherson Regional Council.
In the spring of 2022 he was in occupied Kherson and left only in May.
In spring 2019 he was appointed representative of Volodymyr Zelensky in Kherson region, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and head of the Kherson region’s campaign headquarters in the Presidential elections of Ukraine. In March 2025 he resigned and left the party “Servant of the People”.
