Seven civilians who were previously illegally detained in Russia have returned to Ukraine. Among them are residents of the Kherson region.
This was reported by Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights.
The returned civilians are mostly young people born in the 2000s. They were abducted from their homes or detained at checkpoints in 2022 and were held without trial or investigation.
Among the released are residents of Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Donetsk regions.
“Those returned home are in a severe psychological state, with injuries and illnesses. In particular, one of those released is in critical condition: a traumatic brain injury, contusions of internal organs, burned skin from torture”, – wrote Lubinets.
Recall that on April 11 from Russian captivity 175 Ukrainian servicemen returned and seven civilians. Among them were defenders who carried out combat missions on the Kherson front.
