Each morning — a new start, an opportunity to set the tone for the whole day. That’s why it matters how we begin: with silence, movement, or a favorite drink. For many of us a morning with coffee — it’s not just a habit, but a true ritual that awakens the body and mind. That aroma, the warmth of the cup in your hands, and the first sips create an atmosphere of calm while at the same time giving energy for new tasks. I decided to explore which is better for starting the day — coffee or tea, and how it affects my mood.

How it all began
I have always been curious about how coffee and tea affect our well-being in the morning. At one point I decided to give up these drinks completely for a week to listen to my body and understand what it really needs. After the break I gradually reintroduced them into my routine and observed the results.
What I felt when I returned to coffee
The very first morning when I made coffee again, I felt that familiar aroma that immediately sets you up for activity. A light rush of energy, a desire to do something, move and create — all of that came literally ten minutes after the first sip. It was then that I again felt how important it is for me to have my own waking ritual.
What struck me about the coffee morning:
- Helps you wake up faster and collect your thoughts.
- Improves mood, especially on gloomy days.
- Creates a feeling of stability and coziness.
When I chose tea — I also discovered pleasant nuances
After a few days of coffee I decided to take a break and switch to tea. Green, black, herbal — I experimented with different options to understand which fit my lifestyle better. The effect of tea was gentler, but no less pleasant.
Benefits of tea that I noticed:
- Doesn’t cause sudden energy spikes; it works gradually.
- Promotes inner balance, especially if a quiet day lies ahead.
- The variety of flavors allows you to choose a drink to suit your mood.
An unusual discovery — coffee with mint
One morning I decided to experiment: I added a few leaves of fresh mint to my usual coffee. And unexpectedly I got my favorite summer drink. It turned out to be a refreshing mix that tones nicely without overloading.
Why I liked coffee with mint:
- Has a light, fresh aroma that helps you wake up.
- It refreshes, yet remains “real” coffee.
- Suitable for days when you want something new.
How a drink affects mood in the morning
Over time I noticed that the choice of drink is directly linked to my emotional state. If a tough day lies ahead — I choose coffee. If I have more free time — tea creates an atmosphere of calm and inner harmony.
My emotional state depending on the drink:
- Coffee — gives drive, concentration, and readiness for challenges.
- Tea — brings gentleness, calm, and a slowing down.
- Coffee with added mint — refreshes, but does not overload the nervous system.
The choice depends on the situation
There is no universal recipe that suits every woman. Much depends on what kind of day it is, how many tasks are planned, and even on mood. The main thing is to listen to yourself and choose what supports you at this moment.
Approximate table of my choices:
| Day/Situation | Drink I choose |
| Intense work day | Coffee |
| A day at home, unhurried | Tea |
| I want to refresh my morning | Coffee with mint |
| Low blood pressure | Coffee |
| Feeling of inner stress | Tea |
What I chose as a result
After several weeks of observation I arrived at my ideal combination. On weekdays I start with coffee because it helps me immediately get into the work rhythm. And on weekends I allow myself tea or experiments, for example coffee with added mint.
The most important thing I learned is not to automatically repeat rituals, but to choose them consciously. My morning became more mindful and pleasant, and I sincerely recommend trying this approach to every woman.
